Our Goal
For the remainder of this season, our priority for the Toyota raffle is to raise funds for the excellent off-season BCC cricket academy run under the expert guidance of Head Club coach Rick Cullinan.
Why
The academy has been running now for 2 off-seasons with 5 weeks blocks, 2 nights per week. The academy is open to all members, both junior and senior, males and females with tailored activities and strictly limited numbers.
BCC Head Coach Rick Cullinan has designed specialist skills for our players and proudly says 'any player who wants to improve their skills needs to do extra work in the off season and this program let's them enjoy testing themselves in ways that maximise their potential.
The improvement in our players who have participated is remarkable with the continuity of training in the offseason allowing participants to hit the ground running come season start.
Take Josh Stacey who was playing in our 3rds 2 seasons ago primarily as a bowler. Josh has worked on his game and is now the 6th highest run scorer in the grade and a top 4 bat in our firsts.
Take Julian Smith who also was playing as a bowler in our 3rds last season and is now opening the bowling in our firsts. It just works!
